From Victim to Victory: How to Be a Badass

Side-by-side images of me, Tyger Kahn, showing my transformation from struggle to strength. On the left (January 2024), I’m lying in a hospital bed, covered in electrodes and medical tape, eyes closed, weak, and fighting for my life. On the right (February 2025), I’m standing in the sun, smiling, hair blowing in the wind, wearing a black cowboy hat and feeling alive, powerful, and victorious.

Life will knock you down. It’ll steal your health, your money, your dignity. It’ll screw you over in ways you never imagined. And you have two choices: stay broken or rise.

I chose to rise. And if you’re smart, you will too.

THE MOMENT EVERYTHING CHANGED

I have the pictures to prove it. One where I look like death—hollow, sick, practically unrecognizable. And then another, taken just a few months later, where I look like I crawled out of my own grave and came back swinging.

And let me tell you—that transformation wasn’t accidental.

Because when you are sick, abandoned, or betrayed, the world will try to convince you to roll over and die. And if you listen, they win. But if you fight? If you decide, with every ounce of your being, that you are going to crawl your way back—you become untouchable.

So, I did what no one thought was possible. I beat the odds. I turned my pain into power. And I’m going to show you how to do the same.

RULE #1: DEMAND ANSWERS. NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR HEALTH LIKE YOU DO.

Doctors will dismiss you. The system will gaslight you. They’ll tell you it’s all in your head, that your labs are fine, that you should “try yoga” instead of pushing for real answers.

Screw that.

If you are dealing with any neurological symptoms, demand to be checked for cancer. Don’t let them get away with half-assed blood tests or vague reassurances. Push. Demand scans. Get second, third, fourth opinions if you have to. Because trust me—no one is coming to do it for you.

RULE #2: MOVE LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT—BECAUSE IT DOES.

When you’re sick, your body feels like the enemy. The pain, the fatigue, the weakness—it makes you feel like you have no control.

Take. It. Back.

Even if you can barely stand, move. Start small. Two minutes of boxing, even if you can’t lift your arms for long. Dance, even if you have to hold onto a walker. Your body is not a prison unless you let it be.

I don’t care if you look ridiculous—move. Because every punch, every step, every stretch is a declaration of war against weakness.

RULE #3: BARGAIN WITH GOD. PRAY LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.

Listen, I don’t do fluffy spirituality. I don’t sit in circles “manifesting” while life burns down around me. I negotiate with the universe.

I straight-up bargain with God.

You don’t have to be religious to understand this. Instead of begging for a miracle, start making deals. Tell God, “If you help me through this, I will do X.” Make it real. Make it tangible.

Why? Because bargaining shifts your mindset from helpless to powerful. And in a fight for your life, that shift is everything.

RULE #4: DRESS FOR THE LIFE YOU WANT—NOT THE LIFE YOU HAVE.

I don’t care if you’re on death’s doorstep. I don’t care if you’re rail-thin, bald, or stuck in pajamas.

Put on something that makes you feel like a warrior.

Because the way you dress sends signals to your brain. If you dress like a patient, your body believes it. If you dress like a fighter, your body believes that, too.

I wore hats, colors, things that made me feel alive. Because I refused to let the world look at me and see a victim.

And neither should you.

RULE #5: LAUGH. FIND SOMETHING STUPID AND LAUGH.

There were days I wanted to disappear. But I forced myself to find something ridiculous, something dumb enough to make me laugh.

Because laughter is a weapon.

It is a giant middle finger to pain, to fear, to all the bastards who wrote you off.

So go watch the dumbest video on the internet. Kiss your own damn arm if you have to. It doesn’t matter—just break the cycle of suffering with something absurd.

RULE #6: PICK A DATE. DECIDE WHEN YOU WIN.

This isn’t vague “healing energy” nonsense. I mean literally pick a date when you will be in remission. Or stronger. Or out of the hole you’re in. Mark it on your damn calendar.

Because when you commit to a date, your brain locks in. You start making moves. You stop drifting in survival mode and start planning your victory.

RULE #7: EXPECT OPPOSITION. AND WELCOME IT.

Let me tell you something—the second you start to rise; people will try to pull you back down.

They’ll mock you. Doubt you. Sabotage you.

That’s how you know you’re winning.

Because every force of resistance means you’re breaking through. So don’t let it shake you. Expect it. Embrace it. And then bulldoze through it like the unstoppable force you are.

THE FINAL RULE: NEVER, EVER QUIT.

This is the only rule that actually matters.

I don’t care if you’re out of money, out of strength, out of hope. If you can still breathe, you can still fight. So, take the hits. Get knocked down. Cry, curse, do whatever you need to do.

But get back up.

Because one day, you will stand on the other side of this battle, stronger, sharper, and completely untouchable.

And when you do? You’ll look back at everything that tried to break you and laugh.

Because you didn’t just survive. You won.

Now go. Fight. Win. Live.
