The Reveal

I reach number one in the contest, only to be knocked to 2nd place. Only two more rounds left. Here it is: I plan to give all 40k to at-risk teens in Israel. I will no longer hide from antisemitism! We did not ask for the war! Israel has given their lives to defend themselves.Get off your tuchas and vote! A few years back, I was living in a famous artists' colony eighty miles north of Los Angeles called Ojai. One day I was having tea in the local hippy joint when an ancient-looking woman who claimed to be an astrologer came up to my table and plopped her rickety bottom next to me.

Peering into my fairly amused eyes, she demanded to know my birthdate, having seen my aura from afar. Oddly, I gave it to her, which is unusual for me. A few minutes went by, and after some scribbling, she announced that I was going to die in about a year! 

Annoyed was an understatement, and after telling her I wasn't going anywhere I asked her to kindly get lost and stuffed an orange in my mouth. 

Still, the old witch shook me up. I had been ill with an undiagnosed condition, of which she was not aware. I decided I was not going to let her ruin my day and that I would move on.

A year and some go by, and, sure enough, I flatlined! I bled out and lost three-fourths of my body's blood. Once I was sitting up in my hospital bed after a nine-and-a-half-hour transfusion I thought, damn, the hag was accurate! My next thought was, hah!!!!! Heaven had another plan!!!!!! This was not to be the last time I beat predictions!!
